"Plus de force pour agir et pour vivre" : vie, intelligence et intuition dans <em>L'Évolution créatrice</em> de Henri Bergson

International audienceIntuition, as a central methodological concept in Bergson’s work, is not a vague kind of knowledge in opposition to intellectual knowledge, which is supposedly pre­cise and rigorous. It is rather a specific kind of intellectual thought: intelligence that re­establishes contact with life. Building on this hypothesis, this article exam­ines the relations between intelligence, instinct and intuition in Bergson’s work against the background of his theory of life. The author’s aim is to cast light on the ‘existentialist’ dimension of Bergson’s philosophy, and to distinguish it from any irrationalism
